I'm Liz. I'm 27. I live about as far north as you can go and still call it civilization (and it just barely qualifies), Fairbanks, Alaska. In June of 2003 I moved here from Albuquerque, New Mexico. It took 2 weeks to get here and I put 4,000 miles on the minivan. Fortunately, or not, it died last spring and I was eventually able to purchase a much better car. And potentially afford the insurance.

I'm currently substitute teaching and living in a small, silly house. I live with my love and our two kitties, and lots of craft supplies. What else? Fairbanks feels like the edge of the earth sometimes, but the people are great here-- everyone is just a little bit off. And the coldest temperature I've experienced so far was 52.2 below zero (it was a warm winter) and in the summer it's light out until 1:00AM. That's about it.

About the Site:

This site is hosted by dreamhost. The weblog is written with the all-powerful wordpress, though I have no idea what I'm doing with php and css. The rest of the site is coded in html by me. I like cute html for editing, filezilla for ftp and Paintshop Pro 8.0 for graphics. Digital images are taken with a Canon PowerShot A510.

Please note that I've started password protecting a few entries. If you'd like to read those entries you'll need to email me for password access.

I started keeping an internet journal in August of 2000 to record my experiences in student teaching. (Don't look at those early archives, they're scary.) I just kept writing after that. I still don't have anything of consequence to say.
