I haven't posted in eons, I know. Things are just hammering forward around here, no more or less busy than any other year. I've just put posting at the bottom of the list.
My classroom swelled in the past 2 months to 29 students. In spite of this we/I managed to:
-write, illustrate, decorate, bind and wrap a book for the kids' parents. Each child wrote a poem, typed it on a laptop computer, illustrated it, and decorated the cover with cut poinsettia shapes.
-make about 400 individual pieces of chocolate (made from melted chocolate chips molded in plastic Christmas molds). The kids bagged and tagged them and we sold baggies of them for $.50 each. We made just enough to buy a $120 sheep for a needy family through the Heifer Project, International.
-learn the seven continents
-We also did some math and reading, I think.
R and I just returned from a holiday trip to see my family in New Mexico. We had a good time, especially on our trip to Santa Fe. The above picture is from old town Albuquerque, where a group of shopkeepers got together to decorate this tree with children's wishes for soldiers.
I plan to spend the rest of this week doing as little as possible. So far, I think I've succeeded. ![]()
