I wanted to post this groovy picture of all of the Harry Potter books stacked up at Gulliver's Books for the midnight release a couple of weeks ago. (No spoilers ahead, but if you haven't finished the book yet you'd better get on it!)

There was lots to do at the release. There was a dunk tank where you could dunk the Dursleys, there were toilets where you could throw things at Moaning Myrtle, there was a palm reading with Professor Trelawney, there were disgusting things to eat, owns for the Alaska Bird Observatory, and a photo booth to take your picture playing Quidditch. And lots more.

We bought our books at midnight, read one chapter, went to sleep, and got up early for the Fairbanks Golden Days parade. In July we like to celebrate Fairbank's gold mining history by eating sourdough pancakes and dressing in costumes and dragging people off in a fake rolling jail. All in good fun.

R and I are back in the big (not cabin) house now, and it is nice. We are going to Anchorage on Friday to see the Indigo Girls, then it's back to work for me. Secretly, I am excited. It's fun to plan for hypothetical children who will, of course, be angelic and hang on my every word. Reality will begin on the, mmmmm, 3rd day of school.

FYI- Comments are temporarily disabled until I get back from Anchorage. Too….much…spam. I need some spam help before I can turn them back on. In the meantime, if you must contact me there are instruction on the about page. :)
