Do you ever feel like you have everything to look forward to? I always feel that way. I'm a planner by nature, and I'm not very good at living in the present. I've always had a talent for daydreaming, though. Last night I watched the shadows on the ceiling and thought of everything, of every possible outcome for every future event. There's something really pure and honest about anticipation. I hope the next 3 months live up to all of my expectations.

I honestly feel like my life keeps getting better and better. And as much as I plan and anticipate, the future is always a surprise. It's wonderful.

I'm going to dismantle the machine now, so I'll be away for a couple of days. I'll be back after the move. Hopefully it will be less exciting than my last move. Keep your fingers crossed for cool weather on Saturday.

I continue to pospone packing for fear of further injury. So in an effort to devise new ways to waste time I am going to tell you how to take a Liz shower. Read on if you're interested.

Ick. I am done packing for the day. I have my first 2 moving injuries- killer bruises on my thigh and arm. I walked into an open cabinet door. Shh, don't laugh at me! The house looks like a bombed out trash pit (my mom always says that, I have no idea what it means,) but I think I have made some headway. My dad is renting a U-Haul on Saturday, so I have to be done packing and cleaning by then. I think I'll probably borrow the minivan from my mom and start moving some stuff on Friday. But I'm not doing anything else right now. I am going to take a shower and watch The Umbrellas of Cherbourg. I may even be able to find some wine somewhere in the kitchen. I don't think I packed it.

I bought cheap coffee yesterday. It's as terrible as I expected. As soon as I have a chance I'll go to Cost Plus and replenish my supply of good coffee. I'm all for saving a few bucks, but there are some things I just can't give up.

On the agenda for today: Actually things I should have done last week, but I was too busy with school. I need to get the utilities for my new apartment switched to my name, and I need to decide about my phone and have the service transferred. I'd like to just have my cell phone for a couple of months here and not worry about the bill for the home phone line. But I just don't think I can live without internet for a month. In the interest of keeping my sanity and saving some time I'll probably just transfer the phone line with a really basic package, and deal with other options when I come back from AK.

You can actually see how much packing I got done yesterday, which is nice and also kind of scary. I hope I can find room for all of this stuff in my new place. I'll have to. I should sign off and get some work done now.

Well, I've finished packing all of my books. (I wasn't kidding about the Depend boxes.) It's an interesting array of books, too. Classroom books, college books, books I've actually read, books I keep around to impress you, books I wonder why I own, books that my mom shouldn't see… Now what? Kitchen? Bathroom? Closet? I think I'll take a nap instead. I'll pack up the kitchen tomorrow.
